Nokia E61i

with 2 comments

A baby has arrived to my current family of Nokia mobile phones, the uncle-looking 3100 (loved the lights) and 6030.(Sure loved the boredom-busting FM radio on which I listened to news in the mornings)

Yes. It’s the Nokia E61i!

The Samsung Ultra-Messaging i600 distracted me at one point with its smaller size, cool scroller, sleek interface and solid qwerty keyboard as I was out shopping for the best deal at Sim Lim Square today.

However, Samsung i600’s small screen size pushed and the Nokia E61i’s more intuitive user-friendly Symbian OS pulled.

My first mobile phone was a Nokia. So have every phone I’ve had since then. I’ve read some great reviews (including Google staff who became E61 converts) and noticed one of my colleague access SGX site on wifi during one of our monthly meetings.

The only thing E61 lacked had been a decent camera. Nokia must have sensed that that was what its legion of fans wanted most for Christmas and with a sprinkle of fairy dust, the E61i was born.

I look at it and it’s currently charged for the first time. Can’t wait to switch it on tomorrow morning.
