Relief is what I felt as I blog this latest entry in Mizore.

After spending a week off from work to confine myself in my room to study aided in no small measure with as little distractions as possible, (by switching my connection to the world – my nifty Nokia phone, off) I was briefly-and-mildly estatic to receive passes in both papers, one of which notably is the granddaddy of all Capital Markets Services exams – M6’s security analysis, landing a score in the highest score band. Sweet.

Reflecting back on previous birthdays, it just dawned upon me that most were characterised by memorable milestones. This latest one was no different – I just received a promotion.

Training in my new expanded scope of work starts next week. Certainly looking forward to learning more about the additional asset classes, including equity/credit-linked notes, various bonds and treasury products, to employ in my role to generate various returns.

These days are seeing a rising global inflation and slower economic growth causing for an erratic investment climate. Should this delicate balancing act be not managed properly, it could lead to market euphoria before it goes into depression.

So far I’ve been taking a cautiously optimistic approach and averaging about ten percent returns on investment for periods typically between two weeks to a month using a modified-Hooi Leng approach. I’ve started to wonder if more might be achieved by doing less. Hmmm.

Much is there to learn for the young Jedi.
